How to Lower Your Golf Score
There are numerous ways in which you can decrease strokes from your game. Perhaps one
of the most overlooked aspects is a proper warm-up. You want to be warmed up before you play your first hole, not
after you have shot a few holes on the course. Every professional athlete has a certain pregame warm-up ritual that
they follow to get in the zone so they are ready to play as soon as the game starts. Golf is no
different.
Unfortunately, many amateurs neglect this aspect. What happens is they end up playing
inconsistently and have trouble reaching their peak. Also, they increase the chances of injuring themselves when
playing golf. With that in mind, I will now share with you some tips on how to improve your golf score.
1. Get to the golf course ahead of time.
This will allow you to warm-up, and take care of all the necessary actions that you
need to handle before shooting the first hole. You do not want to pressured and rushed to make it by tee time, so
give yourself the maximum amount of time to get ready for the round.
2. Develop a warm-up routine that works best for you.
Many people start their warm-up by first putting on the green. This helps them focus
their mind and get their muscles going. Some people will start warming up by practicing their swing first. Others
will simply do some stretching or visualization techniques. Whatever the case, find a warm-up routine that works
best for you.
3. Test the firmness of the green before you hit the course.
This is especially true on new courses you haven't played before. Take some chip
shots around the green to see how firm it is and make the necessary adjustments when you begin play.
By getting in the right state of mind and warming up properly, you should be able to
lower your golf score.
